Ed Sheeran

This week's artist is just another import to add to the long list of act that are apart of this huge British invasion that has taken place over the last few years and he goes by the name Ed Sheeran. Born Edward Christopher Sheeran is an English singer, song writer and musician. He began writing music in 2005 and moved to London in 2008 to pursue his music career. In early 2011, he released his eighth independent extended play,"No. 5 Collaboration Project" with it, Sheeran gained mainstream attention. Three months later, he was signed to Asylum /Atlantic Records. Sheeran broke through commercially in June 2011, when his first single "The A Team" debuted at number three on the UK Singles Chart. In 2012, he won two BRIT Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough of the Year, while "The A Team" also won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. What caught my attention was his acoustic version of his song call "Small Bump" He really showcase how true talent can be very entertaining with just your voice and a guitar. Shealeigh

This week's artist is a little pop star on the rise who goes by the name Shealeigh. Shealeigh was born March 29, 1998 in Winfield, Illinois.At the age of two, she began to sing. In 2008, she started to write her own songs. At the age of 11, Shealeigh entered and won the 5th season of the YouTube singing competition Cree Ingles Idol Search. When she was 12 years old, she uploaded a cover version of the song "Shark In The Water" to YouTube. After "Ellen DeGeneres Show" spotted Shealeigh in the year 2010, she invited Shealeigh into her show. Shealeigh is best know for winning Disney Channel's Radio Disney's N.B.T (Next Big Thing) Competition. What got my attention was her song "Strangely Beautiful". I feel that her voice has real potential. So take a listen and tell me what you think.

Haley Reinhart

This week artist is another alumni of the hit show American Idol which proves they know how to find great talent. This young women goes by the name Haley Reinhart. Haley was born in Wheeling, Illinois on September 9, 1990. Born to two musician parents in was natural for Haley to have a love for music. Haley appeared on season ten of American Idol after not making the cut for season nine. She finished third on the hit show. In May of 2012 she released her debut album called "Listen Up" under the Interscope label. It was her song "Free" from that album that blow me away. You can tell that she is a young and talented singer with an old soul and that come through in her music. So take a listen and tell me what you think.

In The Spotlight

This week's "In The Spotlight" comes all the way from Scotland. His name is Jamie McGeech he won Scotland's 2010 talent competition call Ayrplay. This is him performing at that competition so take listen an tell me what you think. I think he is a very talented artist with a promising future.

Arika Kane

This week artist is a pop soul diva who proves that their is nothing wrong with being and staying an independent artist who goes by the name Arika Kane. Born in Killingly, Connecticut she was surrounded by music since both of her parents were both talented musicians. She came to prominence with the musical treasures from her debut album titled “Arika Kane” released in August (2010) which spawned the Hit Singles “Bcuz I Luv U”, “4 The Lovers” and “Here With Me”. All three songs charted in the Top 20 in Billboard, and all (UAC) charts for 20 weeks consecutively in 2010.  Making Arika Kane the only independent Artist on an independent label  to have accomplished this achievement. In 2010, Six songs from the Album “Arika Kane” were featured on several VH1 and MTV Reality TV shows such as “Love and Hip-hop”, “What Chilli Wants”, “Single Ladies” “Disaster Date” and “Basketball Wives". She is currently signed to BSE Recordings. What caught my attention was her song that I heard during one of my new favorite shows "Hollywood Exes" called "Make It".
