Throwback Thursday!
It is once again "Throwback Thursday" and I am in the mood to go back in time to artist that was a great example of blending genres of both R&B and Hip Hop in the 1990's. He had every singing his song and getting in the mood to party with one simple phrase "This Is How We Do It". have you figured it out yet? It is Montell Jordan with his party anthem This Is How We Do It. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do? Remember you can follow me on Twitter @StarsOnTheRise and like my page on Facebook! W3 The Future
Hello and happy Wednesday! I know it has been a while since I have made a post but I promise I will get back to being more consistent with my post. With that being said lets get down to the business of pick our next Artist Of The Week! This weeks Artist Of The Week comes from a group called W3 The Future (WTF). They are the first group to be signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money record label. This group is made up of three young men named 3siXT, DG, and Edge One. This is a group that I feel this group will get a lot of attention for their ability to combined genres of pop, hip hop and R&B. Their sound seems to be uptempo and fun. I think that this will help them to gain a fan base and a following. I look forward to hearing more from them and watching their sound grow and mature. So take a listen and tell me what you think. the task of picking another Artist Of The Week! I truly love each and everyone
of the artist that I place on my blog. Each one brings something different and
special to the table, but this week’s addition brings something very special
and unique to the table. His name is Curtis Fields and he is a true example of
how with the right mind set and a true love for the constant changing world of
technology you can find your place in music history.
Curtis Fields was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and from a very early age realized he had a
love and passion for music. He grew up sing in the church sing gospel music
with his fathers traveling ministry. When Curtis started his professional music
career when he was able to perform with artist that include John Legend and
Eric Roberson. His First single Black Cherry reach number 2 on the Jazz/Funk
category on CD Baby's Top 5. Curtis Fields caught his break in the music
industry in 2012 when he appeared for the New Skool Rules auditions in Atlanta,
Georgia. His audition caught the eye of Ray Daniels from Raydar Management who
told Fields that he would have him signed within two months. This opportunity
opened Curtis up to amazing chance; within five week of his audition he had
offers from five different record major record labels. On June 30, 2013 Curtis
was able to perform his song Opposites Attract at the 2013 BET Awards. His performance included him strumming
a guitar on an iPhone 5 and was called one of the 9 Most Memorable Moments of the awards by Yahoo! Music.
What I love about Curtis Fields is that he is an incredible
singing, songwriter and musician. But the thing that completely had me stunned

Austin Brown
Hello Everybody! I hope you guys are having a wonderful week! You guys know what time it is. I will give you three guesses and the first two don't count. It is time for us to pick another "Artist of the Week"! This weeks pick is a young male artist who has a lot to prove because he is part of a famous family the is considered music royalty. As a matter of fact his uncle is considered "The King of Pop"! His name is Austin Brown and I am pretty sure that by now you have guessed that he is part of the Jackson family and his uncle is none other than the late Micheal Jackson. Austin Brown was born in Tarzana, California on November 22, 1985.He is the youngest of Micheal Jackson's older Rebbie Jackson Brown three children. Early in his career, Brown was a ghostwriter for other artists, working under producers including Tim and Bob, The Underdogs, Corey Rooney, Q-Tip, Pharrell and Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins. In February 2012 Brown released his video "Menage A Trois" on Vevo, Music Choice, Centric, 106 & Park and MTV U.
Outside of the U.S. "Menage A Trois" has plays on Italy, Japan,
Netherlands, and UK Radio. In the UK Austin reached number 1 for 3 weeks
on UK's Bang Radio 103.6 FM. What I love about Austin Brown is how his style and tone reminds a lot of Micheal Jackson which just proves that talent run through that family. But some how he make you stop and take notice that he is doing it his way and on his terms. So take a listen and tell me what you think.
