Amanda Brown

This weeks "Artist Of The Week" is a up and coming artist that who is a vocal prodigy with a rock edge and her name is Amanda Brown. Amanda Brown was on the third season of the American version of "The Voice". Ms. Brown made it all the way to the top six before being eliminated but she made quite an impression with strong and powerful vocal ability with an alternative rock edge. Amanda Brown was born in Bronx, New York and grew up with a gospel background but as a teen she secretly fell in love with rock and alternative music from artist like radio head. What I love about her and her talent is that she is able to merge soul and that alternative edge that creates a sound that is all her own. Priyanka Chopra

This week's "Artist Of The Week" has the makings of the next big thing in pop music and she goes by the name Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka Chopra was born in India on July 18, 1982 she is an Indian film actress, singer and songwriter. In 2000 Priyanka Chopra won the Miss World before starting her acting career in 2002. She stared in the bollywood film "The Hero" and gained critical praise for her role in the 2004 box office hit "Aitraaz". Priyanka Chopra is regarded as one of the most popular, attractive and fashionable celebrities in India. She has performed in television and stage shows, has written columns in India's national newspapers, is active in charity work, and has many endorsement deals. In 2011, she signed a worldwide recording contract with Universal Music Group and DesiHits to record and release her first studio album. What got my attention was her song "In My City" the featuring "Will I Am".  I think she has the real potential to be a cross over pop sensation so take a listen and tell me what you think. Happy Valentine's Day to all of my Stars On The Rise viewers. This week for "Throwback Thursday" I got inspired by the recent Grammy Awards and Rihanna' s performance of her latest song stay. Havana Brown

This weeks "Artist Of The Week" got her start as DJ who has worked and toured with some of the biggest music artist you can think of from Britney Spears, Rihanna, Chris Brown and The Pussycat Dolls. She goes by a very unique name which is Havana Brown. Angelique Meuier " Havana Brown" was born February 14, 1985 in Australia.  Havana Brown made was signed to Island Records Australia in 2008. During this time she released her compilation albums of remixes of songs for other artist. She made her recording debut in 2011 with her song "Run The Night". This song reach number 5 on the Australian Charts and was certified platinum. Following that success she signed with US record label Universal Republic under producer RedOne's label 2101 records. In 2012 she released the remix to "Run The Night" which featured hip hop artist "Pitbull". The song reach number 1 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs and number 26 on the Hot 100 Charts. What caught my attention was of course "Run The Night" remix. His new new album due out in March called "The 20/20 Experience" and the first song called " Suit & Tie already proven to be a big hit. We know J.T still has his music chops. This weeks "Artist Of The Week" is a young female who can both sing and rap she goes by the name Becky G. Rebecca Marie Gomez was born March 2, 1997. She started releasing her YouTube cover of artist such as Drake, Kanye West and Jay-Z just to name a few in 2011. You may have heard her on another up and coming artist song called "Oath" sung by Cher Lloyd. She is currently signed to KEMOSABE/RCA record label. What I found to be so interesting about Becky G she is not just another female who sings and raps. She can also play the guitar and write her own music. That part alone makes her more interesting but it was her passion and drive for the music industry it self. At the age of six she claims she went through a mid-life crises and needed to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. From that point forward she started doing whatever it took to help make her dream a reality.
