Jake Miller

This weeks "Artist Of The Week" come from a young hip hop artist who is multi talented and has a message in his lyrics who goes by the name Jake Miller. Jake Miller was born on November 28, 1992 in Washington D.C.  Jake Miller taught himself to play piano, drums, and guitar at a young age, skills which he has included in his music career. During his high school years, he released several homemade videos on YouTube In March 2011, Miller performed his first live show, opening for rapper "Snoop Dogg" in Pompano Beach, Florida Shortly after, he opened for rapper "Mac Miller "in Fort Lauderdale, Florida not bad for someone who is a college student  currently attending the University of Miami. In May 2011, Miller won the "Samsung" and "T-Mobile" national "Kick it With the Band" talent competition. As a grand prize winner, Miller was awarded $35,000 to use for his music career as well as a video with YouTube sensation "Keenan Cahill". He is currently signed to E1 Music. What got my attention was his song "A Million Lives" I think that this showcase that hip hop can also have a strong message and be uplifting. So take a listen and tell me what you think. In The Spotlight

This week for my "Throwback" video pick I was feeling in a hip hop kind of mood. So this weeks video comes from Eminem. Eminem is a artist that has his share of controversy over things he has said and lyrical attacks on other famous celebrities. But I think we can agree that he is a talent artist and I feel that over the years he has grown, evolved and matured as an artist. Eminem has the ability to make you laugh, feel his pain and make think about the world around you. So let's go back in time to his very first song "My Name Is" I hope you enjoy! Tori Kelly

This weeks "Artist Of The Week" is a young female artist who has made her rounds to a few well known talent competitions. She has won a few and lost a few but with a voice like hers I think she will finally get the attention she deserves as an artist and her name is Tori Kelly. Tori Kelly was born on December 14, 1992 in Canyon Lake, California. This singer and songwriter appeared on the show "Star Search" She didn't win the contest, but later in 2004, she made an appearance on America's Most Talented Kids, singing"Christina Aguilera's"Keep on Singin' My Song" and won, beating out singer and accordionist, "Hunter Hayes". She was signed to Geffen Records at the age of 12 but because of conflicting ideas, it was mutually agreed for Tori to be released. Tori Kelly later auditioned for Season 9 of "American Idol"in Denver, Colorado and made it through to Hollywood week but did not reach the "Top 24. Tori Kelly is now signed to Torray Records and what got my attention was her song "All In My Head" I think she is a very talented vocalist. On YouTube she currently has had over 38 millions views on YouTube and 440,000 subscribers. So take a listen and tell me what you think. In The Spotlight

This weeks "In The Spotlight" comes from someone who has chosen to serve and protect by joining the military. But when that is done I think he has a real future in the music industry.
