It is Weds day
once again you know what that means. It is time to pick another “Artist Of The
Week”! This week’s artist is an up and coming female artist who has an
“American Idol” past and she goes by the name Jessica Sanchez. You may remember
year from season 11 of the “Fox” hit talent competition. She made it all the
way to the finale two, but that was just the beginning for this young pop diva
in the making. Jessica was born August 4, 1995 in Chula Vista, California.
Jessica started singing when she was 2 years old and at this young age she
started having dreams of becoming a mainstream music superstar. Her musical influences included Mariah
Carey, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Etta James, Christina Aguilera and Michael
Jackson. Jessica made many stops on other well-known talent competition before gaining
global attention on “American Idol”. At the age of 10 she appeared on “Showtime
at the Apollo”. She came in second but received a standing ovation for her rendition
of “Aretha Franklin’s” song
“Respect”. She also competed in
the first season of the show “America’s Got Talent” at the age of 11. She was a
wildcard by judge “Brandy Norwood”. She showed so much promise on the show that
judge “ Simon Cowell” named her “one of the best I have ever heard”. This is
the path that leads her to her successful stint on “American Idol” With that momentum
from “American Idol” Jessica and her family decided to move to Los Angeles,
California to help further her musical destiny. Jessica Sanchez is currently signed to 19 Recording,
Interscope. What got my attention about this powerhouse vocalist is her recent
release called “Tonight” featuring “Ne-Yo”. Jessica Sanchez wants to be known
as a powerhouse vocalist who does upbeat and up-tempo music. I think she is
making that dream a reality. She has to the making of becoming a musical diva
much like the artist that have influenced her. So take a listen and tell me
what you think. Remember you can follow me on Twitter @StarsOnTheRise or like
