Dr. Maya Angelou

Hello to all of my loyal Stars On The Rise followers I hope you are all having a fun and exciting weekend after a long and stressful workweek. Today I am bringing you another very special post from the normal Artist of The Week post. This weeks post is to celebrate and remember a person that the world lost earlier this week Dr. Maya Angelou.
She was a woman that I admired and grew up looking up to. Dr. Maya Angelou was a very talent and strong female who really showed that there is no limit to what you can do and achieve in life when you but in the hard work and determination. Dr. Maya Angelou was a woman who wore many hats by being an accomplished author, actress and poet. One of my favorite books I Know Why The Cage Bird Sings is still one of my favorites that I enjoy reading to this day. I can also remembering having to recite her poem Still I Rise for a school program in elementary school. Dr. Maya Angelou has achieved so much in her time in the spotlight. Dr. Angelou has served on two presidential committees, was awarded the Presidential Medal of Arts in 2000, the Lincoln Medal in 2008, and has received 3 Grammy Awards.  Dr. Maya Angelou has also received over 50 honorary degrees and is Reynolds Professor of American Studies at Wake Forest University. Like so many people around the world I was saddened by the new of Dr. Maya Angelou’s passing. She might have left this earth but her achievement and legacy will always live on. Dr. Maya Angelou was a great example of making your time on this plant count and stand for something. If her death has taught us anything make your time on earth count and leave a mark that you can be proud of. Dr. Maya Angelou you will truly be missed. Christina Grimmie

Hello to all of my loyal and wonderful Stars On The Rise followers. I hope you are having an amazing weekend after a very busy week. I am bringing you a special Saturday edition of Artist Of The Week. As you guys know I am a huge fan of hit talent competition The Voice. I have posted about many of the talented artist who have been on the show. So it should come to know surprise that I am doing it once again with the finale next Monday. This weeks Artist Of The Week is none other than the lovely and very talented Christina Grimmie. Christina Grimmie has been one of my favorites young artist long before she was turning chair on The Voice. At the age of just 20 years old she is a singer, songwriter and YouTube sensation. Her first claim to fame came from her singing covers on songs by artist that include Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera and Justin Bieber on YouTube that gained her a fan base that mirrors any music superstar. Since first appearing on this season of the voice she has proven to be more than just another artist singing covers on the internet, but the making of the next big music superstar. Christina Grimmie not only does she has an amazing vocal range. She is an artist that is willing to take risk and in my opinion that is a key component to have a long lasting and successful career. She is an artist who is willing to keep pushing the boundaries of her creativity to become the best music artist that she can be. That is one of the things that I love about her and her talent.  After next weeks season finale I see huge things for Christina Grimmie music career. I think she has that ‘It” factor that will make her a household name. So I say good luck next week Christina Grimmie! And for the rest of you if you have any doubts take a listen and tell me what you think. Remember you can follow me on Twitter @StarsOnTheRise and like my page on Facebook just look for the logo!

What I Have Learned About What Makes A Successful Business Plans

Hello to all of my loyal Stars On The Rise followers. I hope you have had a great week and are doing some serious relaxing during your weekend break. Once again I am bringing you another special blog post. This one is what I have learned about developing a successful business plan. I think we can all agree that any good business plan starts with an idea. The next step is have faith in that idea and getting over that fear and doubt to start putting the work in need to make that idea a reality.

I have done a lot of research from different experts that included Andrea Cockerton who believes that it is important to ask investor for money before they run out of money. Chuck Blakeman who believes it is not the business plan itself that is important, but the blood, sweat and tears to put into that business. I also found guidance from a former student of the college I am currently attending FullSail University Jayson Whitmore who believes you should sell yourself through your business plan. I have found all of these experts’ views to helpful to me when building my own business plan. I think all three will help anyone’s business plan in to an actual business.

What I have learned that it is very important to show your passion and love for your business idea. It is also important to work hard and put all to make that business idea a reality. If you really want your business idea to stand out from everyone else’s and not just put a bunch of number and facts in front of a potential investor.

I am currently working on my own business plan for an artist management company because you all know how much I helping new talent. I feel that the areas that investors will look at most will be my marketing budget and for this reason I think I need to look at increasing the amount of money I am spending to market my business. I hope that some this post was helpful to any of my followers who might be thinking of starting their own business.
