Echosmith

Hello and happy Wednesday! Once again we have made it to the middle of another long workweek and the weekend is just around the corner. It is also that time in the week when I pick another “Artist Of The Week”! This week’s pick is a combination of rock and indie flavor that goes by the name Echosmith. Echosmith is band of siblings Graham, Sydney, Noah and Jamie Sierota. The four siblings from Toluca Lake, Los Angeles grew up in a very musical household learning and playing many different instruments. So it was natural for them to form a band in 2009. Echosmith did what most artists do gain attention. They started doing cover of songs of artist that inspired them that include U2, Coldplay and Fleetwood Mac. By 2012 they had landed a record deal with Warner Bros. Records. The song that got my attention and so many others was their song “Cool Kid” which reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified platinum by the RIAA. I think they are doing music on their own terms that is unique and different while blending the inspiration of all their musical influences to create their own musical path. So take a listen and tell me what you think. Remember you can follow me on Twitter @StarsOnTheRise or like my page on Facebook just look for the logo!

Zendaya

Hello to all of wonderful followers! I hope the week has been very kind to you so far and if not it is still time for it to get better. It is once again the middle of the week which means it is time to pick another "Artist Of The Week"! This weeks artist is a young female who shows she is a very talented individual who can wear many hats and she is only 18 years old! She goes by the name Zendaya. Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman was born September 1, 1996 in Oakland, California. She began performing at an early age with the dance group Future Shock Oakland and attended the Oakland School for Arts and Cal Shakes Summer Conservatory Program. She began her professional entertainment career modeling for brand that included Macy's and Old Navy. In 2009 she auditioned and landed the role of Rocky Blue on the Disney show Shake It Up. This opportunity opened the door to showcase both her acting, singing and dancing abilities. By 2013 she had landed a spot on the 16th season of the ABC show Dancing with the Stars making all the way to the final two. In the same year she released her debut single of her debut album called "Replay". Replay was a uptempo dance song that  showcased her more mature side without being over sexual and keeping her connected to her younger fan base. I see Zendaya going far in the entertainment world and a music career with endless possibilities. So take a listen and tell me what you think. In The Spotlight!

Hello and happy happy Friday! I think you guys know what that means..... It is time to put another artist "In The Spotlight! In honor of it being what would have been music artist Aaliyah's 36th birthday. I have picked an amazing artist by the name of Tiffany Eugenio who did a great acoustic version of Aaliyah's hit song "Are You That Somebody". I really feel her spin on the song showcased her vocal ability in away that did not take away from the original version or make you compare it to Aaliyah's version. I think she did a fantastic job of paying tribute Aaliyah and showcase who she is as an artist. So take a listen and tell me what you think. Fifth Harmony

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! I hope your first full week of 2015 is going smoothly. Since it is Wednesday you guys know what that means it is time ti pick our very first "Artist Of The Week". I thought we would start it off with a little girl power. So that is why this weeks artist is none other than the girl group Fifth Harmony. The group consists of members Ally Brooke Hernandez, Normani Hamilton, Dinah Jane Hansen, Camila Cabello, and Lauren Jauregui. Fifth Harmony is composed of five singers who all successfully auditioned as soloists on the second season of the 'The X Factor," but failed to progress individually to the Judges' Houses stage of the competition. They were later formed as a group at the end of boot camp. Fifth Harmony finished in 3rd place on the talent competition show and where later signed to a joint record deal between Simon Cowell's Syco Music and L.A Reid's Epic Records. In 2014 the won MTV's "Artist To Watch Award. What got my attention was their song "Miss Movin On" which I felt gave them the plenty of mainstream attention. I feel song like "Boss" and" Sledgehammer" prove they are going to be a musical force to be reckon with. They showcase strong vocal range and ability that has not been seen in years by a female girl group. I feel they have a style that is very similar to EnVogue. They have the poise and the sophistication to carry them very far in the music world. So take a listen and tell me what you think.
