Serena Ryder

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! Let's all jump for joy the work week is half way over, but I think we all all know we have to get some important business out of the way. So before we start making all of those exciting weekend plans let pick another "Artist Of The Week"! This weeks artist that comes from Canada and she is a female that I think is very special and is doing music on her own terms. Her name Serena Ryder she was born in Toronto, she grew up in Millbrook,Ontario. Ryder first gained national recognition with her ballad "Weak in the Knees" in 2007. An accomplished songwriter and musician, she also possesses a three-octave vocal range. She grew up listening to old Beatles and Leonard Cohen record as a child, which I found to a clear inspiration for her sound with a slight folk twist. Serena in my opinion has this old soul type quality but she knows how to put a current modern feel that will connect with many ages and musical taste. So take a listen and tell me what you think. The Importance Of A Business Plan

Hello to all of my loyal Stars On The Rise followers. I hope you have had a great week and an even more amazing weekend. Once again I am stepping away from my normal music artist focused post to bring you an informative post. This week’s focus is the business plan.

Everyone has their own views and opinion on a business plan and how just important and beneficial a business plan is. So I have researched tow experts who study and view many business plans and offer their very valued opinion of the business plan.

Andrea  Cockerton is an independent pitch expert from the United Kingdom. She has worked with over 350 entrepreneurs in her career. Most of her knowledge and expertise is in the field of  “venture funding and business critical ideas”. Andrea Cockerton is also a member of the MIT Enterprise Forum board and in 2009 she co-founded her own business called Brick Handbag.

Andrea Cockerton believes that it is important to ask an investor for money before they run out of money. She feels if you wait to late ask for money it could put your business plan at risk of not funded. She also finds it important to have a talented team to execute your business plan and to have a groundbreaking idea.

I found all of her point to be helpful and could be key in having a successful business idea and plan. Her ideas put a person with a business idea in the mindset of being confident in your business plan and making it a reality. Her ideas also show the importance of being prepare, organized and a great team around you to make your business plan to work.

Chuck Blakeman began his career in the U.S Army. He started and grew five small businesses, including one sold to the largest consumer fulfillment company in America. Chuck is the author of “Making Money is Killing Your Business” which was named as the number 1 rated business book of 2010 by the National Federation of Independent Business.

Chuck Blakeman who is a business success mentor has a very interesting viewpoint when it comes to business plans. He does not believe in the business plan. He believes that a business plan is a waste of time. Chuck Blakeman believes the success of a business cannot be foretold. He feels that you should “Implement now, perfect as you go”.

I found all of his points to be eye opening to anyone starting a business. I feel his point of view takes the need to have everything completely perfect when started a business. His ideas put the focus on putting the blood, sweat and tears that you need to start a business. He makes it OK for a person starting a business feel that it is OK if I make a mistake I can learn as I go. To some this method may seem a little more risky, but this idea could also make someone who was to scared to start their dream business a little less afraid to try.

I hope that you guys found this topic and helpful if you are planning on starting your own business. I hope one of these methods will be helpful to someone wanting to start their dream business idea.
