Artist Of The Years!
Happy Monday!! To all of my lovely "Stars On The Rise" followers I hope you week is going great so far. As I promised yesterday I would reveal my "Artist Of The Year". As you know I normally pick an artist that I have blogged about in the past year but this time I am doing things a little bit different. I have been so busy working on other exciting project that I look forward to sharing with you in 2015. That I have not been able to spend as much time with my "Stars On The Rise" peeps but trust me I think that my pick for "Artist Of The Year" will be A+ approved by you guys. This years pick is an R&B diva on the rise who is making her mark on the music world in a big way and I see her doing even more in 2015. I was so blown away by her first single "2 On" I pre ordered her whole album off of iTunes with out hearing another song. I think these days that is very rare with any artist. It is none other that Tinashe. Her debut album debut album "Aquarius" did not disappoint. Her melodic vocal range, dance ability and dress style remind me a lot of the late Aaliyah but she is truly has her on voice and story she wants to tell in her music. Tinashe was born February 6, 1993 in Los Angeles, California. Her name means "God Is With Us" in her father's native language, Shona, from Zimbabwe. She began her entertainment career at the age of 3. Tinashe wears many hats that include modeling, acting, dancing, singing and songwriting. Tinashe acting roles include the Tom Hanks film "Polar Express" and a role on the sitcom "Two and Half Men. I think it is clear her music is what is going to make her a mega super star. So take a listen and tell me what you think. Remember you can follow me on Twitter @StarsOnTheRise or like my page on Facebook just look for the logo! I look forward to bring more amazing artist in 2015 and much more.

Lorde
Hello to all of my wonderful and loyal "Stars On The Rise" followers we have made it half way through the work week! So you guys know what that means! Time to pick another "Artist Of The Week"! This weeks artist is someone that I think we are all familiar with but in my opinion she is just that great of a musical artist with a very bright music career ahead of her and I could not pass up the chance to write about her. If you have not guessed who I am talking about or you have been living under a rock for the past years. I am talking about Lorde! Ella Marjia Lani Yelich-O'-Connor aka Lorde was born on November 7, 1996 in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand. Lorde discovered her love for singing at the age of 5 when she followed a friend into her drama group. It seem it was her destiny to become a singer and songwriter being born to parents who are poets. At the age of 13 she was signed to Universal Music Group and in 2013 her debut commercial release called "The Love Club EP" which included the hit song "Royals". Since then she has won countless awards which include 2 Grammy awards and she has become a household name. What I love about Lorde is her very unique voice and sound. She sounds like anyone else and that is what makes her a very special and rare talent. When you hear a Lorde song you know it! I also love the fact she is comfortable with who she is as a person and an artist. I also love that her music is not set or focused on being trendy but to have a purpose. So take a listen and tell me what you think! Remember you can follow me on Twitter @StarsOnTheRise or like my page on Facebook just look for the logo!

Dr. Maya Angelou
Hello to all of
my loyal Stars On The Rise followers I hope you are all having a fun and
exciting weekend after a long and stressful workweek. Today I am bringing you
another very special post from the normal Artist of The Week post. This weeks
post is to celebrate and remember a person that the world lost earlier this
week Dr. Maya Angelou.
She was a woman
that I admired and grew up looking up to. Dr. Maya Angelou was a very talent
and strong female who really showed that there is no limit to what you can do
and achieve in life when you but in the hard work and determination. Dr. Maya
Angelou was a woman who wore many hats by being an accomplished author, actress
and poet. One of my favorite books I Know Why The Cage Bird Sings is still one of my
favorites that I enjoy reading to this day. I can also remembering having to
recite her poem Still I Rise for a school program in elementary school. Dr.
Maya Angelou has achieved so much in her time in the spotlight. Dr. Angelou has
served on two presidential committees, was awarded the Presidential Medal of
Arts in 2000, the Lincoln Medal in 2008, and has received 3 Grammy Awards. Dr. Maya Angelou has also received over 50
honorary degrees and is Reynolds Professor of American Studies at Wake Forest
University. Like so many people around the world I was saddened by the new of
Dr. Maya Angelou’s passing. She might have left this earth but her achievement
and legacy will always live on. Dr. Maya Angelou was a great example of making
your time on this plant count and stand for something. If her death has taught
us anything make your time on earth count and leave a mark that you can be
proud of. Dr. Maya Angelou you will truly be missed. Remember you can follow me

Christina Grimmie
Hello to all of my loyal and wonderful Stars On The Rise
followers. I hope you are having an amazing weekend after a very busy week. I

many of the talented artist who have been on the show. So it should come to
know surprise that I am doing it once again with the finale next Monday. This
weeks Artist Of The Week is none other than the lovely and very talented
Christina Grimmie. Christina Grimmie has been one of my favorites young artist
long before she was turning chair on The Voice. At the age of just 20 years old
she is a singer, songwriter and YouTube sensation. Her first claim to fame came
from her singing covers on songs by artist that include Miley Cyrus, Christina
Aguilera and Justin Bieber on YouTube that gained her a fan base that mirrors
any music superstar. Since first appearing on this season of the voice she has
proven to be more than just another artist singing covers on the internet, but
the making of the next big music superstar. Christina Grimmie not only does she
has an amazing vocal range. She is an artist that is willing to take risk and
in my opinion that is a key component to have a long lasting and successful
career. She is an artist who is willing to keep pushing the boundaries of her
creativity to become the best music artist that she can be. That is one of the
things that I love about her and her talent.
After next weeks season finale I see huge things for Christina Grimmie
music career. I think she has that ‘It” factor that will make her a household
name. So I say good luck next week Christina Grimmie! And for the rest of you
if you have any doubts take a listen and tell me what you think. Remember you

What I Have Learned About What Makes A Successful Business Plans
Hello to all of
my loyal Stars On The Rise followers. I hope you have had a great week and are
doing some serious relaxing during your weekend break. Once again I am bringing
you another special blog post. This one is what I have learned about developing
a successful business plan. I think we can all agree that any good business
plan starts with an idea. The next step is have faith in that idea and getting
over that fear and doubt to start putting the work in need to make that idea a
reality.
I have done a
lot of research from different experts that included Andrea Cockerton who
believes that it is important to ask investor for money before they run out of
money. Chuck Blakeman who believes it is not the business plan itself that is
important, but the blood, sweat and tears to put into that business. I also
found guidance from a former student of the college I am currently attending FullSail University Jayson Whitmore who believes you should sell yourself through
your business plan. I have found all of these experts’ views to helpful to me
when building my own business plan. I think all three will help anyone’s
business plan in to an actual business.
What I have
learned that it is very important to show your passion and love for your
business idea. It is also important to work hard and put all to make that
business idea a reality. If you really want your business idea to stand out
from everyone else’s and not just put a bunch of number and facts in front of a
potential investor.
I am currently
working on my own business plan for an artist management company because you
all know how much I helping new talent. I feel that the areas that investors
will look at most will be my marketing budget and for this reason I think I
need to look at increasing the amount of money I am spending to market my
business. I hope that some this post was helpful to any of my followers who
might be thinking of starting their own business.

Serena Ryder
Hello everyone and happy Wednesday! Let's all jump for joy the work week is half way over, but I think we all all know we have to get some important business out of the way. So before we start making all of those exciting weekend plans let pick another "Artist Of The Week"! This weeks artist that comes from Canada and she is a female that I think is very special and is doing music on her own terms. Her name Serena Ryder she was born in Toronto, she grew up in Millbrook,Ontario. Ryder first gained national recognition with her ballad "Weak in the Knees" in 2007. An accomplished songwriter and musician, she also
possesses a three-octave vocal range. She grew up listening to old Beatles and Leonard Cohen record as a child, which I found to a clear inspiration for her sound with a slight folk twist. Serena in my opinion has this old soul type quality but she knows how to put a current modern feel that will connect with many ages and musical taste. So take a listen and tell me what you think. The Importance Of A Business Plan
Hello to all of
my loyal Stars On The Rise followers. I hope you have had a great week and an
even more amazing weekend. Once again I am stepping away from my normal music
artist focused post to bring you an informative post. This week’s focus is the
business plan.
Everyone has
their own views and opinion on a business plan and how just important and beneficial
a business plan is. So I have researched tow experts who study and view many
business plans and offer their very valued opinion of the business plan.
Andrea Cockerton is an independent pitch expert from
the United Kingdom. She has worked with over 350 entrepreneurs in her career.
Most of her knowledge and expertise is in the field of “venture funding and business critical
ideas”. Andrea Cockerton is also a member of the MIT Enterprise Forum board and
in 2009 she co-founded her own business called Brick Handbag.
Andrea Cockerton
believes that it is important to ask an investor for money before they run out
of money. She feels if you wait to late ask for money it could put your
business plan at risk of not funded. She also finds it important to have a
talented team to execute your business plan and to have a groundbreaking idea.
I found all of
her point to be helpful and could be key in having a successful business idea
and plan. Her ideas put a person with a business idea in the mindset of being
confident in your business plan and making it a reality. Her ideas also show
the importance of being prepare, organized and a great team around you to make
your business plan to work.
Chuck Blakeman
began his career in the U.S Army. He started and grew five small businesses,
including one sold to the largest consumer fulfillment company in America.
Chuck is the author of “Making Money is Killing Your Business” which was named
as the number 1 rated business book of 2010 by the National Federation of
Independent Business.
Chuck Blakeman
who is a business success mentor has a very interesting viewpoint when it comes
to business plans. He does not believe in the business plan. He believes that a
business plan is a waste of time. Chuck Blakeman believes the success of a
business cannot be foretold. He feels that you should “Implement now, perfect
as you go”.
I found all of
his points to be eye opening to anyone starting a business. I feel his point of
view takes the need to have everything completely perfect when started a
business. His ideas put the focus on putting the blood, sweat and tears that
you need to start a business. He makes it OK for a person starting a business
feel that it is OK if I make a mistake I can learn as I go. To some this method
may seem a little more risky, but this idea could also make someone who was to
scared to start their dream business a little less afraid to try.
I hope that you
guys found this topic and helpful if you are planning on starting your own
business. I hope one of these methods will be helpful to someone wanting to
start their dream business idea. Remember you can follow me on Twitter

my loyal Stars On The Rise followers! I hope you are having an amazing weekend
and are ready to start another productive workweek. Once again I am faced with
the task of picking another Artist Of The Week! I truly love each and everyone
of the artist that I place on my blog. Each one brings something different and
special to the table, but this week’s addition brings something very special
and unique to the table. His name is Curtis Fields and he is a true example of
how with the right mind set and a true love for the constant changing world of
technology you can find your place in music history.
Curtis Fields was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and from a very early age realized he had a
love and passion for music. He grew up sing in the church sing gospel music
with his fathers traveling ministry. When Curtis started his professional music
career when he was able to perform with artist that include John Legend and
Eric Roberson. His First single Black Cherry reach number 2 on the Jazz/Funk
category on CD Baby's Top 5. Curtis Fields caught his break in the music
industry in 2012 when he appeared for the New Skool Rules auditions in Atlanta,
Georgia. His audition caught the eye of Ray Daniels from Raydar Management who
told Fields that he would have him signed within two months. This opportunity
opened Curtis up to amazing chance; within five week of his audition he had
offers from five different record major record labels. On June 30, 2013 Curtis
was able to perform his song Opposites Attract at the 2013 BET Awards. His performance included him strumming
a guitar on an iPhone 5 and was called one of the 9 Most Memorable Moments of the awards by Yahoo! Music.
What I love about Curtis Fields is that he is an incredible
singing, songwriter and musician. But the thing that completely had me stunned
